Review of the brilliant Realme 6 budget smartphone, a mobile costing from £220 in the UK which boasts a 90Hz screen, versatile camera tech, strong battery life and surprising PubG performance. It's not perfect but the Realme 6 is definitely one of the best affordable handsets of 2020 so far.
I've been using this as my full-time blower for over a week now and so far I love the experience. Media fans will enjoy the Full HD+ screen which offers a smooth 90Hz refresh rate, on top of the dependable Bluetooth 5.0 support. Features such as NFC and 5GHz WiFi, missing from so many budget phones, haven't been skipped here.
The Realme 6 camera can happily shoot good looking photos and video, while the battery life will keep you going all day. Plus the Mediatek chipset offers smooth performance, even when gaming with the likes of PubG Mobile.
It's hard to pick apart any issues with this mobile although Realme UI is basically just ColorOS, with that same messy settings menu. If you're after a budget smartphone in 2020, this is one of the best around, alongside the Moto G8 Plus and Oppo A9.
